Attempting To Buy The Dothebag Mono 07 In The US

The most recent issue of LFI confirmed for me that the Dothebag Mono 07 is a pretty terrific small bag for carrying one M and a couple of lenses. Unfortunately, the Monochrom website, which seems to be the only place one can acquire the bag, requires German language skills I don't possess. Does anyone know of a store or site in the US, or a site that utilizes English, where I could buy this bag? I appreciate any guidance. JB

I've bought stuff from Monochrom. Actually, working out what you want is not so hard, even without much German.

If you email them they will respond in English. Nice friendly and helpful people, and the bag is very nice - I have the Mono_9.

Cheers

John

If this helps, it says on the Monochrom website they only have 2 in stock and only in black, the natural and dark browns are on backorder for several weeks. The other thing I noticed is that this bag weighs about 2 lbs (I suppose that's because it's leather). A Domke F5XB which is about the same dimensions, weighs 1.25 lbs. The difference is about the weight of an M9 body. (Not saying you should care, but it's a factor for me.)

This is very helpful. Thank you, Bocaburger. I can see using this in cities with probably only a couple of lenses in it while I carry the M9 in hand, so the weight, I think, should be okay. And darn, as I want the dark brown... But happy to wait if I can just get one ordered.

It's excellent despite the price ......

With a bit of surgery to the partitions you can actually get an M9 with lens, several batteries, extra viewfinder, 4 lenses, manfrotto table tripod, filters/90/4 macro attachment..... and an iPad between the inner and outer :D

Strap is very robust and as the bag is soft and a sensible shape even when loaded up with this lot its not uncomfortable ... with a few lenses and a camera its hardly noticeable.

Go for it. I've bought dozens of bags and it's the only one I use regularly.

but......

If I don't want something to put the camera in I use a tiny Lowepro Streamline 100 with an extra spacer... that holds 2 lenses (even a noctilux) and then has a spare slot for batteries/finders etc..... has a nice extended double toggled zip top that allows easy quick access....
