Just brought my X1 (February 2012) back to the dealer for checking up in Solms as the exposure became more and more erratic.

Pictures taken within seconds of each other were one overexposed and the other correctly exposed.

EXIF: taken 10:16:14 - f 5.6 - 1/400

Lets see what they can do about it, hopefully it will not take too long.

I just wonder if anybody else has experienced similar behavior?

Gerd

what metering were you using? if you were using spot, or center, and metered of the black you'll get the rest of the frame overexposed.

Because of the problems I tried everything from spot to pattern but no relation could be found from that. Stranger still is that I'm sure I did some of the 40 pictures also in centered but when I look at all the exif's I find spot (only 1) and pattern but none centered!

The strange thing is that while metering with pattern method and not moving from place or frame between shots the result are so different. And with only 5 to 7 seconds between them it cannot be the sun / light that has changed.

Also the 3rd picture shown has a shorter exposure time (1/500) compared to the fourth (1/400) yet the 3rd is overexposed.

So I hope they can do something about it and would love to hear what was wrong.
