Moonshine Posted June 20, 2012 Share #1 Posted June 20, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just have not managed to get any bokeh unless i set aperture to 2.8 and try and get as close as possible to the object. how do you get bokeh when shooting on the street and can't get inches close to people? Please help with settings advice on this!

MSUSpartan Posted June 21, 2012 Share #3 Posted June 21, 2012 There's no magic trick, it's just how optics work. DOF is based on a combination of distance, focal length, sensor size, and aperture. If you want less DOF (more bokeh) you will need a longer focal length, larger sensor, larger aperture, or be closer to your subject.
satijntje Posted June 21, 2012 Share #4 Posted June 21, 2012 Please note that due to the 2.8 lens, the X2 is not a bokeh king! I got much nicer bokeh pics with my NEX7 and the 1.8 50mm Sony lens of course, and it would have been even better with a Noctilux I assume (but worse for my wallet):D:D John
