leicarox Posted June 16, 2012 Share #2 Â Posted June 16, 2012 You, sir, rock! Thank you for those. Â What's your consensus after pixel peeping and stuff? Â PM sent for dropbox..
Ferry Zievinger Posted June 16, 2012 Author Share #3  Posted June 16, 2012  A quick correction the 4th picture is from the X2 and NOT X1.  I don't "pixel peep" but some difference I noticed between the 2 cameras;  -if you ask my opinion on the image quality very similar, very slight difference, X1 is nothing less to the X2 when it comes to the image quality -indeed the auto focus of the X2 is faster (less back and forth to get to the point) -the sound of the X2 made during focus is "smoother" and uniform compared to the X1 -the constant sound of the X1 I believe it is the adjusting of aperture when switched on but not taking pictures is gone by the X2 (hope this makes sense to you) -the info panel when taking time release photos is smaller on the X2, now it is just a narrow bar with the info, the X1 almost has the complete screen covered -no more high-speed focus points in the X2 -X2 feels more compact, a bit heavier, feels better build, solid turn/clicks on the dials, battery latch is designed properly now -the electronic viewfinder is a must (for me), I have the viewfinder for the X1 but the lack of info, focusing point did not work for me, the addition of the electronic viewfinder on the X2 makes a lot of difference for me, additional support/stability when shooting, very nice for street shots, ALL info on display. -black version of the X2 is the way to go, looks very professional, the covering is classic  BTW my X1 is for sale...................... leicarox Posted June 20, 2012 Share #4  Posted June 20, 2012 Thank you so much for the pics and assessment! (and for the RAWs!)  I'm seeing a few differences, and am wondering which is more accurate to the actual scene. These translate in both the JPG and DNGs.  The reds in the X2 are more "orange": the woman's shirt in the picture on the upper right the red cocktail shaker  The greens in the X1 are more "olive": the leaves. the Heineken glass  The antheriums in the X2 are also a bit more pink.  Cheers! Ferry Zievinger Posted June 20, 2012 Author Share #5 Â Posted June 20, 2012 Thanks, I agree with you, did you notice any difference between the 2 of them in regards to sharpness?
leicarox Posted June 20, 2012 Share #6 Â Posted June 20, 2012 Thanks, I agree with you, did you notice any difference between the 2 of them in regards to sharpness? Â The X1 feels a touch sharper to me, but I didn't downsize the X2 image. The X1 seems a touch more contrasty too. Â Which on e do you feel has more accurate colors? I don't have a Heineken bottle here
Ferry Zievinger Posted June 20, 2012 Author Share #7 Â Posted June 20, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) The colors of the X1 including the green of the bottle are a bit "fuller",darker how you want to describe it, I think that the X1 looks to be a bit closer than reality when it comes to reds, greens is pretty accurate by the X2, the X2 does better in the pink and blues and softer tones. Just my opinion.
