I sent in my request back in January. Â I wondered when they would start using Leica USA for delivery to owners in the USA. Seems to be a little counter productive to ship individual lenses from Germany to the USA when they already have a facility in the USA. I didn't understand why Leica didn't let you order the lens from the Leica facilty of the country you are in. That is if there is a Leica branch/facility in your country. They will probably use NJ as a distribution point because of the customs issue though. The company is based in Solms and NJ is considered subsidary. It is a legal issue on how foriegn companies have businesses in the US. It's a bunch of mumbo jumbo on how it all works and it deals with exports and imports and that whole issue that our government does. i don't know all the trade stuff but usally all this comes into play because they are in different countries. Need a trade expert here to describe that whole relationship on how the US deals with foreign importers. Not our ball of wax as long as it shows up that is all that matters. I would take advantage of the second 30% offer if I were you. I wouldn't mind trying the new 28mm f2.8 ASPH beautiful results from what I've seen so far...
