I plan to buy a used M9 after I receive a lens currently on order. I plan to use this bag for my rangefinder setup. There are three sizes available that allow you to stuff your camera in whatever bag needed and not worry about not having enough protection. I have used this bag with an X100 in my bicycle bag, day pack, messenger bag, etc.

Who cares? Pick a price point and there's a dozen answers. You didn't say how many

lenses you want to carry aside from the one attached to the camera, so recommending

a size is difficult. As a rule - (purchase price not quality!)

Cheap - Lowepro, Tamrac, Crumpler

Not Cheap - Domke, Artisan& Artist, Billingham

Expensive - Fogg

If you're referring to my initial post I did specify what I'm planning on carrying (Best carry bag for M9, 2 lenses + accessories?). If you were referencing the previous posting to yours then please accept my apologies.

One thing that I didn't clearly say is that I'm carrying my M9 with a 50 lux v2 attached plus two additional lenses. I also keep an SF24D, extra battery and memory cards as well.

Price was't a consideration as I want to hear what the suggestions are without the bias of cost.

I'm reconsidering whether or not to buy new inserts for the Billingham so I ordered a Lowepro Exchange Messenger to try. Small and light...

Jeff, I was also planning to get a Lowepro Exchange Messenger. Padding on Lowepro is on the thin side. I am also planning to get this insert to increase the padding. It's funny though, as the insert is more expensive than the bag itself.

I carried my M8 with a Zeiss Zm35/2 attached plus a Zeiss ZM50/2 and Voigtlander 75/1.8 though Walt Disney World in my Shootsac and loved it - just wish it had room to hold a body with a lens attached. Unfortunately it's a lens bag nothing more... Fit snug against my side and was VERY convenient.

We don't have any camera stores to speak of up here in Albany, NY anymore so I ordered he Lowepro from Amazon - should be here tomorrow...

I just received my Lowero Exchange messenger bag and it's nice but definitely lacking in the adequate padding department. I have a Tenba messenger bag that came with a camera insert that just barely squeezes into the Lowepro bag. I'll try it out and see how it feels over the next few days and then decide whether or not to buy an insert.

There are several insert options on eBay other than the one mentioned in the post above that look like they would "fit the bill"... Right now I can fit my M9 w/50 lux v2 + hood attached, 75/1.8 Voigtlander, Zeiss ZM35/2 + hood, SF24D and my ziplock of supplies (battery, card, lens pen, cloth etc.).

Jeff, I went over all the listings and checked the dimensions of the inserts. The one I identified above has the best fit (I think it was slightly wider, but that might be ok). Anyway, if you manage to identify another one with better fit please share the info.

I just ordered this one from Amazon which has close dimensions to the Lowepro bag.

Amazon.com: BBP DSLR Camera Insert, Make Your Own Camera Bag - Orange (Also comes in Blue or Olive): Camera & Photo

Product Dimensions: 13 x 4.5 x 9 inches

Lowepro Exchange Messenger Bag

Product Dimensions: 13 x 5.7 x 9.4 inches

I'll have it on Monday and will let you know...

Jeff

Rickleica-Many of us were wondering when you would get involved and send us all to the right website. Thanks as ever. What happened to the sun glasses? Did you leave them on that beach/coast line?

Algrove. Hello. Being an optometrist, I am partial to glasses. Those sunglasses you reference from my avatar were a pair of Persol sunglasses that I have had for about 20 years. Persol sunglasses are not particularly expensive but, I find their flexible temple design unique. They are simply nice sunglasses.

This being a "bag thread," I suppose that talking about men's accessories is allowed. So, one of my indulgences happens to be sunglasses.

That sunglass avatar photograph was taken by my wife. It is one of the few pictures of myself because, I am usually on the other side of the camera, like I am sure is the case with a lot of Leica owners. I liked it because she took it with the M8 and the 75 Summilux, a very sexy lens and a lens that takes a certain amount of skill. We were in Italy but, we were not in a very sexy place, Ostia Lido Centro railway station. We were headed out to the beach.

The current Avatar is from another beach several ears later. A sea of sun umbrellas on a wonderful beach... Monterosso.
