rodders Posted June 3, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted June 3, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi guys. I'm very new to photography and hopeless with computers. Â Nevertheless i love my x1 as the pics it takes always looks better than anything I have done before. Â I took the below picture of my two best mates yesterday on holiday. I really like this shot but if you look closely at the cocker (Chloe) between her right ear and and eye there is a blurry funny haze. It also occurs just above the right side of her head. Â I have aperture and did sharpen the image which I assume is the culprit. Â Any suggestions as to how to correct will be much appreciated. Â Thanks, Â Rod. Reminic Posted June 3, 2012 Share #3 Â Posted June 3, 2012 I'm not sure what is the cause for this, but it looks to me more like some jpeg compression artifact than something related to sharpen. So if by chance you're editing the jpeg and happen to have the negative (dng) file for that shot, then editing it rather than the jpeg would probably not show that artifact. In case it would sound daunting at first, know that it's really not: the "auto" button does wonder, and you can pretty much leave it to that! (at least in Lightroom, I haven't used Aperture yet). Â Otherwise, given that these are small areas of a rather homogeneous color, it could well be that painting over it with a color taken from a nearby sky pixel solves the issue. Â Let us know if it works, and meanwhile, keep on with the good shots!
phancj Posted June 6, 2012 Share #4 Â Posted June 6, 2012 See if this helps? Â Just paint over in photoshop, attached revised pic. Unfortunately your photo was too low res. Took a good minute haha... Â Have fun, CJ
