Purchased in April of 2011, my X1 was replaced with a brand new one, right out of the box, in July 2011. Dust on the sensor couldn't be repaired. Earlier this year, the dial on my 2nd X1 developed spasms. It usually occurred after using it for 20 or 30 minutes, When trying to change the ISO, or some other function, it would bounce back and forth. #2 went back to New Jersey. When it was returned, it continued to have spasms, and in addition, the internal battery had stopped working, so that every time I replaced a spent battery with a freshly charged one, I had to re-insert the date and time. Carmen (in NJ) said I would receive a replacement. I suggested an X2. She laughed.

#2 was returned. Yesterday, I received what appears to be a re-conditioned replacement X1. It has a much earlier serial number than the #2. Today, I will try it out.

I'm not that hard on cameras, although I do use it almost every day. I am disappointed in Leica.

Did you get an extension on the warranty?
