This Red-Headed Woodpecker visits our feeders most days, but spooks easily. Today, I was able to get some images during his visit.

 

E-510 with Leica Telyt-R 250/4, 2X, Monopod, ISO 1600, RAW

Beautiful colour !!

It looks a tad soft from here.. are you processing from a RAW file or using jpeg?oops my bad.. then I suggest you might want to work with " clarity" slider see of that helps..otherwise it was camera jitter. Also I think the file has been reduced enormously here.

Thanks for the comments, leicaman. Because I was in a hurry to get set up while the bird was around, I used a monopod. This is fine for vertical stability, but not for radial stability. Because of this, there was probably some movement.
