lokewl Posted March 7, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted March 7, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have my M8 for about 3 weeks now and having a great time using it. I have just upgraded the firmware to 1.092. Â I have notice that the frame counter on the LCD windows drops whenever I increase the ISO. I am using a Sandisk Extreme III 2GB and this can be seen on a Transcend 4GB SD card that I've use. The camera is set for JPEG Fine. Â Without any photo taken, my frame count is as follows:- Â At ISO 160 - 539 ISO 320 - 511 ISO 640 - 485 ISO 1250 - 431 1so 2500 - 359 Â Do you guys think that this a bug or there are some logical explaination to this. Â Cheers. Â LIAM
Advertisement Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Hi lokewl, Take a look here Frame counter keep decreasing after ISO change. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
carstenw Posted March 7, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted March 7, 2007 It might be that the JPG compression is less effective with higher amounts of noise in the photos. I am surprised that it starts already at ISO 320 though. Probably the estimation is conservative.
Guest guy_mancuso Posted March 7, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted March 7, 2007 It happens with any digital camera . Higher ISO's take in more data and increases the file size
