bpalme Posted May 24, 2012 Share #2 Â Posted May 24, 2012 Did they give you a price quote? I may be sending all my lenses in for adjustment. (with M9).
red_dot Posted May 24, 2012 Author Share #3 Â Posted May 24, 2012 No price quote yet. I sent them via my local repair shop (Kindermann) since they are not authorized to make repairs on digital equipment. Kindermann said they'll contact me with a quote. red_dot Posted June 19, 2012 Author Share #4 Â Posted June 19, 2012 OK guys, Leica will fix the M9 under warranty. Apparently there was a problem with the sensor. Something along the sensor being misaligned. Also, they changed the vulcanite to leatherette, a partial CLA (clean and adjust only) and a couple more things which i don't really remember. In terms of the lens, it needs repairs such as the focusing mount to be fixed/replaced and another issue with the focusing + CLA ( I suppose). The price for the repairs are $215. Not too bad for it is being done. Leica said it'll take 4-5 weeks till I get my lens back. I just hope I get them back before my trip to Rome at the beginning of August. However, for those of you knowledgeable, what all the repairs mean to my camera/lens? Any explanation would be appreciated. Cheers, Seb
