Suuumm55 Posted June 11, 2012 Author Share #21  Posted June 11, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Barley is planted usually end of May / June..the variety is the same, just that the it is considered a very "risky" crop, you have to be good at reading the weather and making the correct decision. If you get it right, the barley should be golden yellow by August and ready for harvest by September. Its very important to harvest when it is dry, if you harvest when it is wet, you risk losing almost 50% of the value you will get for your sale. Sometimes in a bad season, it does rain in September and so the crop is ruined, that is why it is considered "risky".  Cheers, JRM   thank you very much John  i to mix the harvest, because i look at google and i see a picture ( barley june ) looks golden yellow ...... HeinzX Posted June 12, 2012 Share #24 Â Posted June 12, 2012 A very nice picture, I like it. Perhaps a little more room on the top would bee an interesting variation. But of course I do not know, what is in the original picture in this place - therefore it might be necessary to cut away something.
