Paul,

Thank you so much!

It wasn't easy: wind blowing, holding the flower with the left hand, the camera with the Apo-Macro in the other... :( but it was worth the attempt :)

Bill,

You got wonderful cameras... and you took some wonderful images!

Thanks a lot!

John,

From a month ago, I'm using a LaCie 324i monitor. I'm as amazed as enjoying...!

Thanks for your interest.

Cheers,

The 324i is very good, it really makes a big difference AND you can see and appreciate the quality of the images 100% better.

Cheers, JRM

The sad side of it is the the impossibility to transfer such a quality through a 960 pixels image. Hence my tendency to force in excess the sharpness. I suppose with the time I'l find the right point about it!

Marc. thats one side..for me I don't care, its how the final print looks that matters.

Talking about sad, our local Opus Frames, has the Epson Pro 7900, which is 16 bit capable, but because they would have to re calibrate all of their equipment, they only use 8 bit, because the majority of their customers are not professional photographers.

That means 50% of the colour detail is lost and you just as good as getting a cheap inkjet printer for home.

What I might do is get a group of photographers to get together and "pool" our resources, and have our own 16 capable printer.

Now as for the colour and detail loss that happens with this web server and browser, thats been true since 2001. It would be nice to have what they have over at Zenfolio :)

Cheers, JRM

John,

I'm a long time thinking about the matter of a gallery. Your reference to Zenfolio makes me think again..

My website is almost only for graphic design works, an activity now not as effective as in other times, here in Spain.

Maybe thanks to your comment I find there the way to take some advantage to my images.

Thanks a lot.

Marc,

a great shot and certainly worthwhile alle the struggel to get it. Many thanks for the interesting discussion with John and image quality due to monitor and printout. I'll search for an affordable version by Eizo in future...
