David&Kay Posted May 18, 2012 Share #1 Posted May 18, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Not sure if this is a major problem or to be expected. Noticed the blue specks / spot highlight areas when reviewing a couple of images recently. M8.2 35mm Summicron DNG and processed in Apple Aperture 3. Any suggestions on what is likely to cause this and how to eliminate it if possible. Particularly noticeable in trees and surface of the water. Thanks in advance. Jim-St Posted May 19, 2012 Share #2 Posted May 19, 2012 Welcome to the Forum you two! The pattern you're seeing in the water is moiré, and it's endemic in M8 files as you'll see if you search around this forum. Capture One and Lightroom 4 have moiré removal tools, but I don't know about Aperture as I've never used it The effect in the trees is a little more worrying, but I'm pretty sure LR4 would get rid of it using either moiré removal tool or just possibly by applying its chromatic aberration suppression. (Aperture probably has something like the latter, or you can download a free 30-day trial of LR4 from the Adobe site) I doubt you have a hardware problem of greater consequence, and would suggest you try these sort of steps first off Nice picture, BTW!
