When I placed my order with amazon it was through willoughbys which has a 99% favorable rating. They must of had a small stock come in that got snapped up pretty quickly. My account is showing a 6/5-6/7 delivery date. Hope this is not bogus.

It's weird that Willoughbys received X2 cameras before Leica's own DC store. I'm hoping their stock comes in next week, but at this point, who knows.

Amazon is listing the end of July for receiving the X2, so clearly, it's going to be just about impossible to actually get one until Fall, unless you're on a pre-order list. If I can't get one before I leave for vacation towards the end of June, I'll probably pick up a Fuji X100 instead. Image quality is just about the same between the two, though I do prefer the Leica.

Well,we will see if it actually arrives. The next morning after I placed my order the badge was changed to " hurry only 4 left" . Anyhow, I am in the same boat, vacation at the end of June and starting to think about plan b.

You'll be OK, I'm sure. I bet you'll have it this week. Was talking to my local camera shop this morning, and they have received accessories for the X2, so they're thinking the camera itself will arrive next week. Finger crossed.

I am patiently waiting as well on the waiting list in DC. But patience is running thin lately...got to hang in there . As they say good things come to people who are patient. :) Mine will be black.

Got a note from Willoughby's today saying they might have some silver ones by the end if this week, but the black model (the one I ordered when Amazon showed it was in stock) wont be available for a while. So much for Amazon advertising that the camera was in stock from Willoughby's.

I cancelled my B&H order when I purchased the X2 from Amazon. I trusted "in stock" meaning "in stock." I am not faulting Amazon as much as Willoughby's. Be careful when you order from them.

I'm heading to Munich on Monday, so I hope to find the X2 in Germany!

How are you liking the X2, compared to the X1? Image quality comparable? Any issues shooting in low light, or at shutter speeds lower than 1/100?

The X2 is a very good camera. It doesn't have the one million options for settings like a NEX or so. Its very easy to operate, and I like the straight forward handling.

So far, the images I took were all fine. AF is indeed a lot faster compared to the X1. High ISO up to 800 was ok, I did not push further.....

The LCD is much better. I don't know what they did, but for me it's good enough, I do not need a 10 million dots screen......

Together with the X2 I'm using the OLYMPUS EVF, that works great. Much better then a OVF.

When I had my X1, I had a OVF but used it only 3 times. Now with the EVF, its used nearly always, as it makes the operation of the X2 much easier.....

Image quality between X1 and X2 is similar, but I'm not a pixel counter :-)

I can only recommend the X2, as it has all the necessary things I expect from a digital camera.

That's great to hear.

Unfortunately, I called two local shops here that carry extensive lines of Leica gear (I am on the pre-order list at both), and it's looking like they may not see the X2 until the end of June or early July now. If that's truly the case, then I'll have to go with the X100 as I have some travel coming up later in June, and need a camera for that (currently only have a P&S on hand).

I ordered a Silver one through Willoughby via Amazon.

Mine shows a delivery date of Monday-Wednesday. We shall see....

Willoughby's seems to have been the only place in North America that has received the X2 to this point. It's strange, especially as the Leica Store in DC has no idea on when they're receiving them. This has truly been a vaporware type of release in North America, given it's been almost a month since the announcement.

Please consult the German X1 section:

p.s. pics are heavily compressed, on my 27" iMAC they look fantastic!

That's a beautiful set of images from the X2. The colors and tone are rich, and the images certainly look sharp on my 27" iMac. Nice work, and looking forward to seeing more.

I sure wish I could find a place that has this camera. I am just running into brick walls. I have a store here in Chicago that says he may have it today or tomorrow...talk about wishing and hoping. Any ideas besides calling Germany - I called them a few days ago and they had it - problem is - the shipping and time for international shipping will take at least a week or more. errr

Checked my tracking number and delivery is now slated for thursday morning (tomorrow) Stopped by a local camera shop yesterday and tried out different viewfinders, ended up getting the optical one from Leica. Tested it on the x1 and tried the Panasonic EVF on a Lumix. This is purely personal but I preferred the amazingly bright image on the OVF. Plus the Leica one was a return so got a 30% discount!

I have been notified by my dealer that he will receive his order of X2s on this Friday. I have preordered a black body to trade in my black X1. Dale Labs here in Hollywood, Florida. Talk to Josh mention Howard told you.
