edmond_terakopian Posted May 16, 2012 Share #1  Posted May 16, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Greetings Folks,  Got a chance to try out the X2 as well; very fast AF, great electronic finder and fast drive. Very impressed indeed.  Leica X2 Test Shots - a set on Flickr  Alas the camera was on jpeg though and I didn't check! Apologies ;-)  Cheers,  Edmond

NZDavid Posted May 16, 2012 Share #2 Â Posted May 16, 2012 Damn good up to ISO 800, not bad at ISO 1600 and 3200, thereafter for fans of French pointillists only.

At 3200 it's actually ok - such a shame I didn't check to see if I was shooting in RAW as it would be much better!
NZDavid Posted May 17, 2012 Share #4 Â Posted May 17, 2012 I wonder if any difference compared with X1 -- also very good at 3200, arguably better than the M9.

As I mentioned previously, the AF is much faster - perhaps three times faster. The electronic finder is brilliant and not as hit and miss as the optical, as you can see if you've focused at the right point. Also the drive and buffer feel faster (although I didn't do a side by side due to limitations of the event and time). I for one am very seriously considering upgrading my X1 to the X2. Paul J Posted May 17, 2012 Share #6  Posted May 17, 2012 Thanks Edmond,  Focus three times faster sounds amazing. Did you feel at any stage, such as low light etc, that it lagged?

Did you feel at any stage, such as low light etc, that it lagged?  I didn't have a huge length of time with the camera - maybe 20 minutes or so. I also only shot in in that studio. In those conditions, all it did was impress me!
