3D does not own the lens in question and champions a lens without first-hand experience in using it.

I got one of the first six samples from the same prototype batch from that also Stephen and Dave got their samples from. The only difference of my sample was that it was not rangefinder calibrated as I did not plan to use it on Leica M9 due to its general limitations when shooting F0.9x lenses. The only Leica that makes sense for me shooting a F0.9x lens (also the Noctilux) at open aperture is the upcoming "M" with an EVF attached.

If you use this flickr-search, a significant amount of the samples are from me (H.Hackbarth): slr magic hyperprime t0.95 50mm - Flickr: Search

I still own a HyperPrime T0.95 and I am quite sure, it will be the last lens I sell before dying of starvation.

I have no first hand experience with the lens, and will trust feedback from the users posting here.

There was a user here (I think you know who) that allegated another user to have said someting like "the HyperPrime vignettes like a fat whore" and that "it vignettes much more than a Noctilux". If you compare the vignetting charts at La Vida Leica, you see that this is not the truth like so many other things which were written here. It is up to you whom you trust...

I don't care about the lens and it's vignetting- it happens with fast lenses. Barrel distortion- this lens has a lot of that, no big deal. The Canon 50/0.95 uses a 72mm filter, has very little vignetting because of the large diameter front element. My collection of Sonnars: vignetting.

The problems brought forward with this lens that I care about: 1) improper use of adhesives and 2) weight causing rangefinder misalignment. Until the company can demonstrate that these faults have been alleviated, this lens cannot be trusted on an RF coupled camera.

This thread does nothing to inform anyone not already informed about the quality and usability of the lens named in the thread's title. Since the thread does not even center on the product any more but only about who said what it has outlived its usefulness.
