I've been away from the forum for over two months. A lot of new developements since then. More "teething problems" with the M8, Leica's DMR is no more ("sold out" according to Leica USA). The long rumoured EOS MkIII was finally announced, and today I read that Leica has discontinued its Summilux-M 75mm f1.4, first introduced back in 1980 along with so many other new lenses. Another great Leitz classic of the 80's that bites the dust. WIth the superb (and very compact) APO-Summicron-M 75mm, it was only a matter of time.

With all these changes in the air, who knows, Leica might announce a new D-SLR camera at this week's PMA trade show (starts in three days) ... I will post additional news/info on the digital forum.

Cheers,

John F.

There is another tread about the same subject on the digital forum.

Moderators, happily most members noticed this and don't post on this one parallel to the other.

Perhaps, since nothing is happening here it's time to delete this one.
