madNbad Posted May 13, 2012 Share #1 Posted May 13, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Please don't flog me but I have a flash question. Has anyone used a SF-20 or 24 as a trigger flash for a Metz in slave mode? Since they are both Metz flashes it should work but I just wanted to ask. Advertisement Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Hi madNbad, Take a look here SF-24 as a trigger flash. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
giordano Posted May 14, 2012 Share #2 Posted May 14, 2012 If you just want to trigger a flash in optical "slave" mode then the make of the triggering flash doesn't matter at all. It just has to be bright enough for the slave photodiode to detect it. If you mean something fancier where the SF-24 controls the output of the remote flash to give the correct exposure, I'm pretty sure the answer is no. madNbad Posted May 14, 2012 Author Share #3 Posted May 14, 2012 I was considering using a slave module on my Metz 54 MZ-3 to use the remote function and hoping the SF 24 could act as the command flash. It may still work in auto mode but I was looking for some input.
