roydonian Posted May 13, 2012 Share #1 Β Posted May 13, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) If you use the OpTech double rear cap as a way of storing a pair of M-mount lenses is a single compartment in your camera bag, check how well the cap fits when each lens is set to the infinity focus point so that its rear part is fully moved to the rear. Β Yesterday my 21mm f2.8 Elmarit-M did not mount correctly into one side of the double cap when set to infinity, so ended up falling to the pavement (sidewalk to our US friends) with the inevitable results. wda Posted May 13, 2012 Share #2 Β Posted May 13, 2012 Doug, that is bad news! I use the Leica back-to-back coupler but it does not work with all lenses. I have learned to be very careful with that accessory by removing a lens over the bag compartment. I would never store two coupled lenses in a jacket pocket, for example. 40mm f/2 Posted May 13, 2012 Share #3 Β Posted May 13, 2012 I got an Optech double rear cap and hated it not only because it did not have enough space for deeper lenses at infinity, the lenses did not seat well and the diameter was much larger than my lenses and thus wasting space in my bag. I ended up glueing 2 spare rear caps together (Loctite Hysol). Works perfect!

erl Posted May 14, 2012 Share #5 Β Posted May 14, 2012 Shattering news! Seriously, I feel your pain. Recently a friend knocked my Noctlux, attached to the M9, of a bench onto a hard floor. The news is not good.
