Am contemplating a 35mm lens for my epson R-D1, M8.2, and my Xpro1.

Options are: contax 35/2.8 (i think its 2.8), voightlander 35/1.4, Elmar 35/3.5, and Summaron 35/3.5.

I am aware some of these need adapters on some of the cameras. I wonder if the summaron can alo be used on non Leica cameras.

Any advice would be apreciated...

I do not know about the lens in your option choices but I would suggest you try 35mm f1.4 Fujinon for Xpro1. They work together very well. I put M lens with Kipon adapter to Xpro1 and most got soft edge. 50mm and longer FL worked well.

The 35mm Ultron f1.7 is a great lens. It has a similar formula to the Summilux with the negative front element. I have an RD-1 and it is essentially "glued" to the camera. When I compare the lens to my summilux, the value of the summilux rapidly becomes suspect.

Is that an older cv? How does it comare to the other? I should add, i cant justify spending 1k on it, which is why the others are of interest to me

It is a LTM lens, so you will just need an coded adaptor to M mount. It costs around 400-600 USD.

It wont cover the viewfinder as much as others, good resolution wide open, little focus shift..it is well recommended.

Otherwise, the Nokton 1.2 looks the best to me from samples ive seen...but it is quite large.

If not Fujinon, try 35mm f1.2 VC if you do not mind weight and size. I did have this one and it is very good lens in my own opinion. I used to have 4x35, 2x35mm cron, 35mm lux FLE and 35mm f1.2VC. Now I keep only the FLE and 1.2 VC.

I cannot use the fujinon on my leica or my epson, so that one is not an option...

interesting, but a bit big/heavy and a bit too expensive.

I might be able to get a 35/1.4 second hand, which would be a good option, depending on how it compares to the Elmar 35/3.5. I'm struggling to find a review on the elmar actually, and like to know how it holds up against the CV lenses.
