*j-w-m* Posted May 6, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted May 6, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) It's been there calling to me for over a day. With lenses so hard to get these days, I'm wondering why it hasn't been snatched up. I read great things about it. Just not the lens everyone's waiting for? Advertisement Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Hi *j-w-m*, Take a look here 28 Summicron in stock at B&H. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Messsucherkamera Posted May 6, 2012 Share #2 Â Posted May 6, 2012 After several years of using the Summicron 28, I can't see any reason to long for any other wide angle lens. If there is a universal wide angle M lens, this would have to be it IMHO.
*j-w-m* Posted May 6, 2012 Author Share #3 Â Posted May 6, 2012 I agree, I've seen great things from this lens. And I think it would be an ideal companion to an APS sensor given the crop. I'd probably have to let my WATE go to justify it though and I'm not ready to do that yet.
Guest snowboarder Posted May 6, 2012 Share #4 Â Posted May 6, 2012 28 Cron has been available for some time at a few stores. I guess they ran a bigger batch. Also there's been a few 50 Lux's showing up last week, even B&H had it for a few minutes Adorama has the 24 f3.8 in stock if someone is looking. Also the 18 is available at B&H
bpalme Posted May 7, 2012 Share #5 Â Posted May 7, 2012 I don't think there has been a shortage of 28 crons. It sells for hundreds below list on the used market.
wda Posted May 7, 2012 Share #6 Â Posted May 7, 2012 I have noticed an above average number of mint used Leica M lenses available on one leading UK dealer's website recently. After all the hype and speculation about May 10th announcements, I wonder if this is an indication of some owners off-loading lenses in anticipation of more tempting goodies to come? andalus Posted May 7, 2012 Share #7 Â Posted May 7, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I put my 28 Cron on the market a couple weeks ago and got a bid in less than an hour for 4600 dollars. OVER market.
wattsy Posted May 7, 2012 Share #8 Â Posted May 7, 2012 I put my 28 Cron on the market a couple weeks ago and got a bid in less than an hour for 4600 dollars. OVER market. Â Yes, so you keep pointing out. Wasn't it a silver (and thus relatively rare) 28 Summicron?
bpalme Posted May 8, 2012 Share #9 Â Posted May 8, 2012 Normal rate these days is about $3200/3400 minty. Black
