Advertisement Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Hi algrove, Take a look here Leica D.C. Store Open. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
rramesh Posted May 5, 2012 Share #22 Â Posted May 5, 2012 I attended their opening the other night which included a cocktail party followed by a presentation by Peter Turnley. Of course there were grab bags with Leica-Magnum calendars, a Leica inscribed journal, and some exotic cupcakes (see below). Very nicely done. Glad to see that Leica is back. Wonder if the cupcakes turn black and white over time?

That was under an administration that discouraged regulating the securities industries even as the financial crisis became imminent. They were "hands off" so to speak, and perhaps they had to keep busy. Plus their hands had to go somewhere.
SJP Posted May 5, 2012 Share #24  Posted May 5, 2012 Wonder if the cupcakes turn black and white over time? I think you could freeze-dry them and then cast into a block of PMMA. That would be a nice paperweight. Or make a time lapse video of a deteriorating Leica cupcake - nice art school project.  The possibilities are endless. symmetron Posted May 5, 2012 Share #25 Â Posted May 5, 2012 I ate the cupcake. Not really a collector unless one considers eating desserts as collecting to one's....a physique.

I wondered why they did even that, because I assume it competes with David Farkas' Dale Photo, which in my experience is the greatest camera store in America.
