Are your MP batteries weather dependent?

This is not a thing about cold climates and frozen batteries.

 

I found that when I used my 6.2 in wet conditions batteries discharged fairly quickly. MP seems to be doing the same sort of thing. Batteries in the 9 seem to go on forever, last I noticed it was on about twice the number of rolls of film it is supposed to get through.

 

MP has chiseled through this lot of batteries in about thirty, forty rolls, which seems odd even if I dont remember always to switch the camera off.

Shooting about 50 to 60 rolls will drain my MP's batteries.

At quite a stable count.

Temperature only affects the power when the battery is almost empty but not the lifespan.

I was thinking more along the lines of a moisture contact and battery discharge against camera body case or something. The 6.2 did seem to chew batteries when it was raining. Has the same sort of battery recess as the M. All it does is light the meter LEDs, in the dry it seems to go on forever.

The problem is that when the relative humidity is high, the battery will always drain even when the switch is off. There's really not much we can do about it, due to the laws of physics. The best thing you can do is to remove the battery when you are not using the camera to avoid drainage.
