Peter's talk was really fantastic. He told us about his career path, which was interesting in itself. And he showed us images from various stages in his career. But his core message was that photographers should pay as much attention to their heart as their eye. I found him engaging, intelligent, and he is a really wonderful photographer.

The Leica Store in DC is fantastic, and they seem to have ambitions to be serve as a photography hub/community, not simply as a place to sell product. This is so welcome in DC, which has a strong photography community but really no great photography stores in the city.

As a symbol of Leica's resurgence, this was a fantastic move by the company. (And selfishly, for once Washington was on the leading edge of something, not simply a backwater masked by The Most Powerful City In The World advertising hype.)

I agree, selfishly, regarding the Leica Store. Saves me 30 minutes commute to the nearest Leica dealer (with any decent stock), and it won't be hard to beat that dealer's often less than satisfactory customer experience.
