Bo_Lorentzen Posted March 5, 2007 Share #21  Posted March 5, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Well the baffle actually reduces the max operating apperature as it effectively blocks some of the light exiciting the lens. where as the vignetting is light-fall off along the edge or perimeter of the image. The baffle should not cause vignetting. but since a focused light beam comes from all over the surface of the real element the baffle will reduce light - naturally that same light from a large diameter lens is also what cause scattered.light to blur the image.. sooo.   Bo  My Leica scratch page - random thoughts , pictures and such.
