Advertisement Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Hi dkCambridgeshire, Take a look here Rumored Summicron 50 ASPH. I dont get it.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
AbbeyFoto Posted May 2, 2012 Share #42  Posted May 2, 2012 I agree with everything you say, except that I expect the B/W camera on May 10th will be based on an M9, and thus not provide a preview of the M10. Do you have any idea on how large sensor resolution one can use with the current 50mm cron and lux before the lens becomes the constraint?  I am of the view that the anticipated B&W M9 and the future M10 will push some existing lenses to the limit. An upgrade of the old faithful Summicron maybe apt.
sdk Posted May 3, 2012 Share #43  Posted May 3, 2012 Wasn’t the 28mm/2.8 Elmarit M ASPH less expensive than the 28mm/2.8 Elmarit M version IV at the time of its release? Of course now it is more expensive, but at the time it came out it wasn’t, if I recall right. Could Leica repeat this with a 50mm/2 ASPH?
