Old Friend Returns

Recommended Posts

Gary, I met with a friend of mine a couple of months ago and he had the exact same camera. I had never seen one before. The first thought that came to my mind when I held it was how perfect it fit in my hand and how light it is. And I thought how great it would be if Leicas were still that way. I am not complaining about the weight of newer Leicas, but to feel this early one was a revelation for me. The camera is for sale now. I have no economic interest in this but Ken Hansen is selling it.

He's rather good, isn't he? The first picture: was that taken by an uncoated Elmar?

Just back from major surgery.

New shutter blinds, and a "CLA", plus touch up to the black paint.

Looking forward to running some film through it.

Gary

What a beautiful camera. Mine is of the same series, but some "soul-less" person updated it and stripped the body back to nickel/chrome. At least they left the lens uncoated. I look forward to your first photos. Rgds, David
