hjsesq Posted April 13, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted April 13, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) The aperture ring on my 2.8 90 mm lens sticks. If it is not used for a week or two it is stuck in place and takes a lot of force to work it free. Once freely operating there is no problem until the next time I use it. If not used for a few days, there is some hesitation when I initially turn it and then it operates smoothly. Is there a way I can lubricate it or should I leave it to a pro? algrove Posted April 13, 2012 Share #2 Â Posted April 13, 2012 Suggest you send it to Leica NJ. One of my Tele-Elmarits was very sticky too and I sent in and just recently got it back from NJ and it now works flawlessly.
likalar Posted April 13, 2012 Share #3 Â Posted April 13, 2012 If you are not original owner, it's possible someone (non-professional) used an incorrect lubricant or even possible spilled a a couple drops of liquid (soda-pop?) that are gumming up the assembly. The suggestion to have it serviced/restored by Leica or qualified shop is a good one. Â Larry
