mwalker649 Posted March 2, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted March 2, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm having problems achieving the "Leica look" with my photos. When I bought the M8 and using the beta 4 version of Light room I had no problem with good results. Now with LR v1 the photos look flat. Also I don't really know what this means but the ACR 3.6 has gone away in my choices in Camera calibration (that was there until I down loaded v1.091 but didn't put it on the Camera), all I have is "embedded". Also, I do calibrate my laptop with Eyeone. Any advice is appreciated.

Jfelder2@nyc.rr.com Posted March 2, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted March 2, 2007 Mike, why don't you post one of the flat photos so we can see what's going on. Is it possible it's just that you're not shooting with decent light? Â http://www.SnapshotArtifact.org

The older shots look good in LR but the M8 seem well..flat.
robsteve Posted March 2, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted March 2, 2007 Mike: Â The new Lightroom will do a auto exposure that may be causing this. Hit the reset button at the bottom of the develop pane, right side of the sceen, to get the image as the camera shot it. Â Fill light and blacks setting in Lightroom can kill the life of images if applied incorrectly. Â Robert
stunsworth Posted March 2, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted March 2, 2007 This is just a simple tweak - I adjusted the curves in Photoshop. I also converted it from Adobe 98 to sRGB - this will prevent the washed out colours you often get with Adobe 98 in a web browser. mwalker649 Posted March 2, 2007 Author Share #6 Â Posted March 2, 2007 Thanks Robert, I did that before I posted the picture to clear any post screwing around I did with the image. I have noticed that my ACR3.6 has gone away for some reason, it was there before. All I have is "embedded".

robsteve Posted March 2, 2007 Share #8 Â Posted March 2, 2007 Thanks Robert, I did that before I posted the picture to clear any post screwing around I did with the image. I have noticed that my ACR3.6 has gone away for some reason, it was there before. All I have is "embedded". Â Have you edited the DNG files with anything other than Lightroom? Sounds like there is a problem with the file if you no longer have a ACR 3.6 option. Lightroom also stacks edits on top of the original DNG. Make sure you are not looking at a file that was previously save and exported out to photoshop. Look for the file name. If it is L1234002-edit.psd, you are no longer playing with the DNG, but a previous edit. Right click the thumbnail to choose another image in the stack or look around in the thumbnails for the same image as a DNG. Â Robert
mwalker649 Posted March 3, 2007 Author Share #9 Â Posted March 3, 2007 Robert, The image came directly from my M8 to LR. No previous editing or conversions. I downloaded the 1.091 version to the computer but not to the camera. Thats the only thing different since ACR 3.6 disappeared..
