I prefer mine pure, just the way it left the manufacturing line and was released by Leica's QC. No crutches or band-aids.

You might look at such as the top load KATA DC-433. It fits everything in a neat padded arrangement., ie camera, kiwi adapter, lens, viewfinder, also room for spare batteries and sd cards. It can be held by hand, on a belt or carried on your shoulder.

Thanks for the tip. I looked at a Kata larger one at Dales, it was way too deep, built for a "Hoogie" or a 200mm zoom not a minimulist Leica X1. I have a A&A messenger bag but with the VOF attached it does not fit easy for quick removal. It is obvious you can not buy a case without actually fitting it on site. I do believe that is seems the narrower messenger or top loaded designs are better suited for day trips.
