scho Posted March 1, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted March 1, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I received my new M8 (black) yesterday from Popflash (thanks to Josh and Tony) and it is working well. I'm still undecided on which raw converter (Mac) to use (tried Aperture, Lightroom, C1, CS3/ACR, and Raw Developer) but I'm leaning towards Raw Developer for the excellent sharpening, profiles, and accurate colors. Below is a quick shot I took this AM out my back door using M8 with 50mm f/2 Classic Heliar with B+W 486 IR filter. Image was processed in Raw Developer with the RDv162LeicaM8wB+WIRLoSatMatrix profile. Image
joern Posted March 1, 2007 Share #2  Posted March 1, 2007 Nice shots Carl. And congratulations.  Raw developer is a great tool. Personaly i prefer C1 because i am using it since 2000. But some tone adjustments are more intuitive within RD.  Good to have these choices, isn´t it?  jørn
iomatic Posted March 1, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted March 1, 2007 I like the Capture One and Raw Developer outputs, but hate-hate-hate (what is this, early 2000?) their interfaces and (lack of) workflow. Lightroom is nice. Â Aperture is really the queen here in terms of workflow, but only does a passable conversion job (after the DNG rigor morale). scho Posted March 1, 2007 Author Share #4  Posted March 1, 2007 Thanks for your feedback Joern and Jack. I worked a bit more with Lightroom today and I like the workflow. Here is another taken with the 50mm f/2 Heliar. I was concerned that this lens might not be good enough for the M8, but it is producing excellent resolution and color.  Full image  100% Crop:
