wparsonsgisnet Posted February 28, 2007 Share #1  Posted February 28, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just got off the phone with Tony Rose (popflash.com). He told me 2 things of interest to us:  1. He is expecting a shipment of B-W 39mm 486 filters about mid-March. I have seen recent postings looking for this size filter. Some that he has ordered are spoken for; if you want one, get in line soon.  2. He was told by an "Official Leica" source, that the version 1.10 update will not be available until April  Now don't go ballistic, anyone. Remember, we want Leica to get this right. If you are reading between the lines of the postings from the monsters who have made our lives easier with profiles and how-to's, you will agree that there are still some problems to be addressed.  These include IR that is not being totally filtered by the B-W 486 filters, and some confusion about how vignetting will be dealt with because it is aperture-dependent.  So, stay calm, wait for those who managed to capture the ephemeral v.1.091, today, to test it and report back -- and continue to take those beautiful images that the M8 is allowing us all to capture.  Regards,
jonoslack Posted February 28, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted February 28, 2007 Or we could always shoot the messenger . . . Â Hi Bill - thanks for the heads up. I've got my copy of 1.091, and it looks good to me, they might want pandora back in the box, but if it's out there! (and if course, if it doesn't work we can shoot Guy as well!). Â I've had such fun with my M8 since it came back from Solms - it isn't easy exactly, but it's so stimulating, and the pictures are so inspiring. Â thanks for the heads up - hopefully Leopard will be out by then, and Apple will support it too.
