ian moore Posted March 7, 2012 Share #1 Posted March 7, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Recently,I have noticed that, when I push down the shutter release button on my R9,the mirror is flipping up but the shutter is not being released. I have to push the button again to actually take the picture. I have done the obvious and checked that the mirror up lever on the front of the camera body is to the left.I have also changed the batteries. Any other obvious solution or is it a Leica service? Ian Moore. Ian, it's certainly behaving as if mirror lock-up is selected. Try setting a time delay on the back, and see if the mirror locks up when the button is pressed once, and that the shutter then goes on to fire at the end of the 2 or 10 seconds delay. If so, then the camera deefinitely thinks that mirror lock-up is selected. The only thing I can suggest is to try moving the lock-up switch back and forth a few times to see if it's not making a proper contact for some reason. My bet would be on the switch.
