JeffWright Posted March 1, 2007 Share #41 Â Posted March 1, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) WoodyLeica have an R development team in place, what do you think that means ... ? Â Remember the Apple Newton? Remember Contax? They each had a development team, too. For all you know the Leica R development team may consist of a 28 year old just out of business school and the office janitor....unless you've signed an NDA and haven't said anything. ustein Posted March 1, 2007 Share #42 Â Posted March 1, 2007 I think one question is whether Leica can define a new mount. I mean the electronic part of it (AF and IS). I think they need partners. Their main partner Panasonice may not move beyond Four Thirds. Â Why not make Leica lenses for other cameras: Nikon and Canon? Â Uwe

like_no_other Posted March 1, 2007 Share #44 Â Posted March 1, 2007 Yes, I think they will come up with a ground up newly designed professional modular system with a larger sensor equipped digital back. One option for lenses is to use old R lenses with automatical crop of the larger sensor. What about I'm not sure is if this system will be open for lenses of other manufacturers or will only take R and new line Leica lenses. Â
