Golf in Croatia

Anyone else getting the twin ads for golf clubs and trips to Croatia?

How do these adverts work? I have only once played golf, and never visited Croatia (I would like to though). Visit Croatia that is ;)

Are these ads on the front page personalised, or just randomly generated?

Andy - yup, they must be random-generated...I haven't been to Croatia since the 1960s, and I'm so ignorant about golf that I assumed a reference to irons was to do with pressing my jacket - tho the price did seem a bit expensive for the average Russell Hobbs :-)

cheers:

Sam

Andy,

I can only comment on Croatia which I visited in 2005 for a week. We visited Krka National Park, stayed on the island of Brac in Bol and moved south to Dubrovnik and stayed in the Argentina hotel which was a fine finale.

I came away with a good feeling for what the Croatians have done following a disastrous war. The coast is delightful and, dare I say, resembled the Italian Amalfi coast but was much cleaner than I remember was the case in Italy.

People were friendly and we had a super local guide hired through Headwater. I am still processing my pictures and will post some as soon as I can find time to down-size them.

Hey Andy,

As an obviously biased Croatian ;) I highly recommend a visit! Croatian national Tourism Board is a good place to start: Croatia - Croatian National Tourist Board

As for golf, I am not a golfer myself, but I do know that there is a golf course in Brijuni National Park (Golf Brijuni).

The Park itself is worth a visit (Brijuni). It used to be Tito's residence in former Yugoslavia. It can get expensive to actually stay there, so if I were you I'd stay somewhere on mainland on Istria peninsula - it is my favourite part of teh country and it's absolutely stunning. Check out their web site - it will take your breath away ISTRA/Green Mediterranean

Cheers!

Bojan
