Me too, and that's why Adobe created Lightroom. Kelby's book, or similar book or tutorial, some actual experience and a modicum of brains is all that's required. Really very easy to learn the controls. The idea is to be able to replicate the process (develop a disciplined workflow), not just get lucky on one image to print.
