kcnarf Posted February 14, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted February 14, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have read on this site that the Nikon sc-17 sync cable will enable off-camera TTL for the Leica sf-24 flash. But it does not. It only enables AUTO. Does anyone know of a sync cable that will enable off-camera TTL for the sf-24? Or is there none?
Advertisement Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Hi kcnarf, Take a look here sf-24 off-camera TTL?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
lars_bergquist Posted February 14, 2012 Share #2 Â Posted February 14, 2012 My cable does. You may have a faulty connection. For starters I would test the leads with a suitable instrument, like a small ohmmeter. Â An alternative cable is the Nissin SC-01. Â But I would not exclude pilot error either. Check your procedures thoroughly. Â LB
ayewing Posted February 14, 2012 Share #3 Â Posted February 14, 2012 I have a Nikon SC-17 cable which works well with my SF-24D. I understand that the Nikon SC-28 is also suitable. Â Lars makes a good point about checking the integrity of the lead. It would also be worth cleaning the contacts on the camera hot shoe and on the flash as well as the contacts on the lead. Â I hope you get it to work.
kcnarf Posted February 14, 2012 Author Share #4 Â Posted February 14, 2012 I deeply thank you, LB & Archie, for your confirmation of the TTL compatibility of the Nikon SC-17 sync cable with the Leica SC-24 flash. I have just tried again. I had been turning on to no avail first the power of the SF-24 and subsequently the power of my M9 . So now I have reversed the order of those 2 steps and everything works fine. What is odd is if I now revert back to my original procedure, that procedure now also works.
