billib Posted February 10, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted February 10, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) How many of you hate using that BIG 10 ft. Coiled Flash Cable when using your Flash off camera? Yah, me to. I bought an inexpensive After Market knockoff of the Nikon SC-28 Flash Cable and removed its BIG LONG COILED Cable and soldered in a Straight 2 foot long Category 6 Router Cable. Much, much better. Here are some photos:

Guest #12 Posted February 10, 2012 Share #2 Â Posted February 10, 2012 Thanks for the post. Paramount is probably still modifying Nikon cables. There is a Vello cable OCS-N1.5, but I don't know anything about it. SC-28: 3m, Vello: 0.5m.
billib Posted February 10, 2012 Author Share #3 Â Posted February 10, 2012 Thanks for the post. Paramount is probably still modifying Nikon cables. There is a Vello cable OCS-N1.5, but I don't know anything about it. SC-28: 3m, Vello: 0.5m. Thanks for the heads up on a shorter TTL Flash Cable. I've been looking for something shorter than 10ft. for quite a while now and was unsuccessful. The problem with the Vello Cable ia its coiled. My straight cable is 18 inches (1.5 ft.) and is the perfect length for my setup. I may purchase the Vello and attempt to straighten the coiled cable. That may be a little more reliable than my hack. Â Thanks again!
