Flyfisherman Posted February 5, 2012 Share #1 Posted February 5, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Dear members, I have been using a 8GB Lexar Platinum II SDHC on my M8 and noticed that the writing speed is quite slow when I select DNG + JPEG. I recently purchased a more expensive 8 GB SanDisk Extreme Pro that can write up to 95MB/s. However, I noticed the writing speed did not improve much. Any thoughts, insights ? colonel Posted February 5, 2012 Share #2 Posted February 5, 2012 Dear members, I have been using a 8GB Lexar Platinum II SDHC on my M8 and noticed that the writing speed is quite slow when I select DNG + JPEG. I recently purchased a more expensive 8 GB SanDisk Extreme Pro that can write up to 95MB/s. However, I noticed the writing speed did not improve much. Any thoughts, insights ? The M8 and M9 card readers can not go faster then around class 6, so anything faster does not make a difference Also note that the manufacturer card ratings are not accurate. I saw tests on tomshardware that reviewed many cards and found class 4 from some faster then class 6 on others In terms of what I buy, generally I get Samsung class 10 for everything as I have found them reliable. Lexar are also good. For sandisk I would avoid the extreme pro as there have been some problems reported in the past with them and Leica (although supposedly fixed now)

maccaco Posted February 5, 2012 Share #4 Posted February 5, 2012 I only shot DNG, is more faster. Then I pass as a JPEG. The Leica JPEG is not very good.
