Black vertical lines - sensor problem?

Hi,

I discovered a black vertical line on all my photos from todays outdoor session. The line is on starts aprox 1/3 from top and goes all the way down. ISO range from 160 to 1250, and all are night exposures of several seconds. All are taken on uncompressed DNG only, and imported to LR 3.5.

After discovering this a did a series indoor with same card / lenses and so on. But on these photos there are no traces of lines. Unfortunately I did format the card before discovering the lines and taking new photos (but have of course backup of files).

Anyone got a clue? Should I just commit harakiri, or wait a bit longer? I have tried to search for similar cases, and it seems that some people have had to send this for repair?

I attach two 100% crop from photos ( original are in landscape format.

Here is a couple of photos:

Alf,

The line is distinctly blue to me.

One question. Are the two images you linked to on Flickr full frame and unrotated in any way?

I ask because on those images the lines definitely are on an angle while the crops you attach here

show the lines completely vertical

Hi,

The images on flickr are rotated, slightly tilted and cropped in LR. Thats why the lines seems not to be vertical. So on the original photos the lines are vertical, and at the same place.

Sorry for spamming you, but please advice; I assume I need to send my M9 to Leica. I have a chance to deliver camera to retailer tomorrow 1st of Febr. Should I go ahead?

Update:

I have now done a series indoor with same card / lenses with formatted card. I used different level of lightning, ranging from ISO160 / 0,5s / f/2 to ISO1250 / 12s / f/11 and imported in LR 3.5. The lines do not appear on all, only on the low light photos (6 out of 26). There are also long exposure photos without lines.

I have also checked older low light photos without finding these lines.
