Paul J Posted January 29, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted January 29, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've been a long user of Pelican cases. I like the function but they are rather ungainly looking. I just saw the M7 Titanium Ltd Edition 3 lens kit case which is a Rimowa case that was custom made for Leica for the edition and would love something similar. Â There's a nice pic on the steve huff site of the case HERE Â Hasselblad amongst others have had dedicated hard cases and wondered if anyone knew if Leica did the same? I can't seem to find any info and googling just returns hundreds of leather half cases etc. Â Rimowa do so have some outstanding cases but I thought I would ask here and see what people used in terms of hard cases. I want something super stylish.
Advertisement Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Hi Paul J, Take a look here Hard Case. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
bocaburger Posted January 29, 2012 Share #2 Â Posted January 29, 2012 I'm sure you could find a classy, stylish small hard-shell case made for non-photographic purposes (like THIS) and then if you or someone you know is handy with an Xacto knife, customize it to fit your Leica kit. Â But if you want something waterproof, then Sea King or Pelican or something like that with a gasket and pressure valve is not going to be "super stylish" as you put it. Â It all depends on what your reason for wanting such a case is, and you haven't said. I don't use a hard case...they're heavy and you have to set them down to get the stuff out. I have a rubberized roll-top dry-bag/backpack I can insert my shooting bag if I'm concerned about waterproofing.
