threeputt Posted January 20, 2012 Share #1  Posted January 20, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I hope this is the right place ~ did a search but it yielded no results. I am contemplating a new tripid/ball head purchase (RRS TVC23 legs and BH-40LR ball head, but can't figure out which plate to purchase for use with my M3. I emailed them and they suggested the MC-L or the B-30 but couldn't guarantee fit. I was hoping someone here has RRS equipment and could guide me in the right direction. I like the MC-L as it will fit my Nikon FE as well, but was hoping for confirmation before placing the order.  Thank you  Jeff
Advertisement Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Hi threeputt, Take a look here Really Right Stuff Plate for M3?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
hoppyman Posted January 20, 2012 Share #2 Â Posted January 20, 2012 Hi Jeff, the B30 SHOULD fit (I've not tried it personally) as the M3 tripod socket is in the same position as on the M6 . The little B9 WILL work but you only get the small square off-set bi-directional area of course. That might be a reasonable inexpensive compromise though. You can use it for quite a number of other things anyway. Â I don't think you are going to be able to fit any L plate from RRS Â The MC-L (Multi Camera L Plate) will definitely NOT fit because there is no thread at the end for attachment to the M3 off-set tripod socket. Look at the illustrations on the RRS site. Â I'd suggest that you just ask RRS if you can return the B30 for credit if needed. They are good people to deal with.
