Everything comes to and end. We depart the river cruisers to drive by coach back to Kochi and our ship. Here you see the narrow gangway between the canal and the lower land around.

We had a look at the local shipping before it got dark. Across the channel was a oil terminal for crude oil. - Strange place to have such an installation. In close proximity to both housing as well as fertilizer factories - and cruise ship terminals. Don't smoke on deck, folks!

Again we see busy dredgers. They are busy at all the mouths of the huge rivers in the FE.

I will always remember the hours around sunset in the tropics with a cold beer on the deck. Here is a geological survey ship that will, hopefully, fullfill the dreams of the Indians of finding oil offshore.

Back onboard: We are dining at the captain's table. The captain was Terje Ulvik from Norway.

A typical late evening scene: We have a late evening drink discussing the latest port of call or the evening's entertainment.

The next port of call was Port Blair at the Indian Andaman Islands. A place I had never been before and looked forward to see.

Port Blair seemed to be a harbour for the Indian Navy. This ship is a geoligical survey ship in military colours. The Indians are not used to leaving vital information of any exploitable oil resverves to a private company.

Our Tuk Tuk driver wanted to show us this beach. Could have been a wonderful place. Had it not been for the Port Blair's garbage dump burning in the vicinity and covering the beach in a sour smoke.

More from the beach at Port Blair. The Andaman Islands were hard hit by the 2004 tsunami. Some 14.000 people were killed here. This Port Blair beach was hit too. Repair work is still going on...

Do the officers on the bridge have a gas grill? We were soon to get an answer.

We pas a new condominium I had only seen drawings of. The apartments were also intended for expats. My wife and I thought of moving there once. Until we checked the prices. - Oslo is a cheap place compared. - It looked even more weired when it was just a drawing in a real estate ad in New Straight Times. One of the passengers told me that the construction looked like his broken tooth. He could not wait to get ashore to visit a dentist.
