zid Posted December 10, 2011 Share #1 Posted December 10, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all I was hoping somebody could help me out. I've recently noticed that all the pictures I take in 16:9 aspect ratio have a weird vertical line across them, like for example here: L1070506.jpg picture by vkislicins - Photobucket This shot was taken in Auto mode with 16:9 aspect ration. The problem seems to go away using a different aspect ration. Does anyone have any suggestions what might be wrong with my camera?
Advertisement Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Hi zid, Take a look here Leica D-Lux 4 - vertical line across photos in 16:9. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
markymark240682 Posted March 22, 2012 Share #2 Posted March 22, 2012 i'm afraid one of your sensor's pixels is broken and blocking the line readout which is used in a ccd sensor. have you been travelling a lot with the camera (i.e. airplane)? radiation in higher altitudes will fry pixels on sensors. a friend of mine uses an m8 with the exact same problem, although it only shows up when using higher iso settings. Bert N Posted March 25, 2012 Share #3 Posted March 25, 2012 The bright column is caused by a 'hot' pixel defect in the CCD, i.e., a pixel that is over saturated with charge and the extra charge is transferred across other pixels down the column as it is read out of the sensor resulting in the bright column. You don't see the bright column in the other formats because the column is outside of the active area covered in 3:2 format which has a narrower width (fewer columns). I'd suggest you contact Leica customer service for a solution to this issue. Hi all This shot was taken in Auto mode with 16:9 aspect ration.
