Compact, sharp, fast focusing, light travel lens and, when one combines its close focusing with its 90mm focal length you get surprising macro shots. If you are happy, for example, traveling with the 28/35/50 tri-elmar (as I usually am for daylight shots), then the 90 macro elmar is a natural addition, as it adds capability of tight headshots as well as maco capability. I still find myself throwing something faster (like a little 35/2 into my bag, however, just in case I am in low light, but almost never have to bring it out.
