StephenPatterson Posted December 5, 2011 Share #1 Â Posted December 5, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) In 2011 the cost for a Leica Weekend was $495, and participants received a $300 voucher. If you attended the M9 experience for $199 you received a $150 voucher. Â For 2012 almost all Akademie classes, from the $1695 "Leica Destinations" to the $199 "M9 Owners Workshop" will receive the same $150 voucher. The exception is the $150 "Leica Compact Camera" session, where participants will receive a $50 voucher. Â I believe Leica would have been smarter if they had simply reserved the "top tier" $300 voucher for their most expensive class, the $1695 "Leica Destination", and lowered the voucher coupons for the other classes. Â Now, let me say that I am a big fan of the Leica Akademie classes, and would have attended regardless of receiving the vouchers I did. However, it's never easy to reduce a benefit once it has been offered. In this case I think Leica could have structured the 2012 voucher program better. StephenPatterson Posted December 6, 2011 Author Share #3 Â Posted December 6, 2011 I feel the bean counters presence in so many recent Leica decisions...it makes me fear for the M10.
