The 90 T/E is amazingly compact; the 90 Elmarit-M has excellent resolution; so does the 135 but you are right, for portraits with the M9 a magnifier would help. Best general purpose lens for portraits is the 90 Elmarit-M. The 2/90 'cron would of course give you shallower DOF at the expense of weight and cost, while a wider 75 would be an interesting alternative (several versions are available).
