M9reno Posted November 23, 2011 Share #9 Posted November 23, 2011 $35,050.00 Canadian is perhaps not too much to pay for a camera that belonged to HCB. It just needs the original papers addressed to Rue de Rivoli! By the way, yesterday I showed my wife what 0-series s.n. 107 sold for earlier this year -- to her it appeared as absurd as the price of this Leica I seems to us! Leica__M3 Posted November 27, 2011 Share #13 Posted November 27, 2011 I like a good joke every now and then. But can someone tell me why these have such a high asking price. 370534095236 350509708801 250872854098 Without actually knowing the specific reason/s for the extremely high "buy it now" prices, my understanding is that the prices listed are more about positioning for where their listings will show up in a search. Many (some?) will search with a highest to lowest parameter setting, as that way the small/cheap accessories and other bits and pieces will be less likely to clutter up the listings for the actual lens that buyers are seeking. I appreciate it seems counter-intuitive to put such silly prices on such items, however for all three listings you ask about, they invite "offers", and it is that option where the real business is done. As it so happens I have dealt with one of the traders whose listings you have asked about, and found them to be excellent. I acquired a really amazing lens at what I consider a fair price (fair based on the general market price for such lens) and they were helpful in various others ways too. Anyway, as I suggested above, this explanation is a bit of a guess, however it's my best guess as a trader myself (mostly of items completely unrelated to photography). Cheers, David
