stasber Posted February 23, 2007 Share #21 Posted February 23, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've an M4-P, can anyone tell me if the HKS magnifier would fit it too? I don't have it to hand and won't be home till after the weekend. Not studied my M-achine in enough detail to recall if it is threaded (or if this was an enhancement for M6+). Would be very handy as I shoot mostly 50, and some 90 in low light. Thanks
Advertisement Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Hi stasber, Take a look here 1.25x Magnifier for M camera. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Iron Flatline Posted May 21, 2007 Author Share #22 Posted May 21, 2007 UPDATE: I've had the HKS magnifier for a few months now, and must warn people who wear glasses to be careful. I realize that recently I effectively destroyed a pair of optical sunglasses after shooting with it for nearly a week straight. Not sure about other ones, like Leica's magnifier, but the HKS product and it's pure metal construction with sharp edges is bad news for glasses. marknorton Posted May 21, 2007 Share #23 Posted May 21, 2007 I think that's a risk with the Leica magnifier as well because the rubber ring comes off. I've glued a neoprene rubber washer on to the back of my HKS magnifier.
Iron Flatline Posted May 21, 2007 Author Share #24 Posted May 21, 2007 You Sir, are a creative genius. Consider the idea stolen and copied!
marknorton Posted May 21, 2007 Share #25 Posted May 21, 2007 You're welcome! Actually, you can relax more when using the finder because you're not trying to hold the finder off the plastic lenses and can actually use it to steady the camera by letting the two come into contact.
